Exploring the Delectable Turkish Pastry: Börek at Uncommon
About Us
Uncommon is the local neighbourhood deli that's our first stop for a hot drink after school drop-off... and its reputation draws customers from far beyond the immediate area.
During the pandemic, Uncommon diversified its offerings and became a well-stocked gourmet food-shop, with everything from delicious red wine to moreish Italian biscotti. Pick up some fresh fish, check out the tempting selection of meats and cheeses in the fridge and take home a freshly baked sourdough for lunch with the kids. You can even get your milk and eggs here, and we dare you to resist the colourful cornucopia of fruit and veg on display outside.
Co-owner Mina, mum-of-three, active Honeywell Schools' PTFA member and healthy cooking aficionado behind Uncommon's delicious smoothie, salad and quiche recipes. Growing up in three different countries (Serbia, Russia and England), Mina brings her global outlook and discerning eye to every aspect of Uncommon.
Neb is Mina's other half, who responsible for the everyday operations at Uncommon. Neb's always happy to have a chat about babies, dogs, local real estate... or to give you his top tips on the best wine and food pairings to try.
Djordje born in Serbia and raised in Italy, is the smiling face behind the counter typically accompanies your coffee order each morning, and makes it near-impossible to leave Uncommon without a smile. He'll help you source the perfect ingredients for any meal and has plenty of tips (food-related and otherwise). Fun fact: Uncommon was originally going to be named Everybody Loves Djordje.
